Earl Scheibs is painting my CVO
« on: August 17, 2012, 03:10:32 PM »

Well, not really, but I do have a couple paint questions on my new to me 06 FLHTCUSE:

Do I have the accessory power wires inside the fairing connected to the headlight harness?  If so does the accessory switch need to be on for those wires to be powered?  Im looking for a place to wire in a GPS.

I want to add color matched mid frame air deflectors and enclosures for lower fairing speakers.  How will I go about matching the majestic green pearl paint?  I dont think I can drop them off at Earl Scheibs.  Can I even get the paint code from Harley?

Hs anyone replaced the saddlebag filler strips with the street glide filler panel and lower light?  Im wondering how it would look.

Can't help with the paint, but I found an unused connector that was only hot when the switch was on (perfect for a GPS).  The connector had a red cap.  Of course, I've got a different model and yr., but if you'll check the wires and connectors with a test light, I'm sure you can locate a wire that's only hot when the switch is on.

Sorry, forgot to tell you this was under the fairing.

you can buy female wire end with male spades and use cigarrette lighter power by putting female on lighter and then power to male spades.
