CVO PAINT
« on: August 18, 2012, 09:59:01 PM »

I just got my 2011 CVO Convertible back from the dealer after having the tins all replaced due to an insurance claim. I received my original tank and fenders back in the boxes the new one arrived in. Looking at the shipping label, they came from a company called Gunslinger Custom Paint www.gcpaint.com. I think I figured out who does all the CVO paint jobs for Harley. Check it out.  Frank

They don't do them all but they do a significant amount. From an aftermarket perspective they are great to deal with.

I was told each dealer has a paint shop local who does the paint work on claims. Idk how true this is.

I've been to Gunslinger's shop.  They do great work.

They also painted with a perfect color match my inner on my 2010 FLHXSE.  And a perfect match too on my 2003 Heritage Springer (HD never released the silver from that year).

They also do many of the other bikes for MOCO, not just the ConV.

Some dealers have their own in-house painter, while others send their work out to a local subcontractor, very similar to how auto dealers operate.  But that's not the case with CVO paint.  CVO painted parts are replaced, not repainted locally, when there is a warranty issue.
