Auxiliary LED gone bad?
« on: August 22, 2012, 08:15:00 AM »

Has anyone had this happen? Looks to be a powdery substance that has stuck to the interior lens and back reflector.

Gotta love it.  One of the pitches to get guys to buy these expensive LEDs is their longevity.

When did you actually buy it?  If it was January 1, 2012 or later, the parts and accessories warranty is one year, not 90 days.  Harley updated their policy in March of this year and made it retroactive to January 1.  Tell your dealership contact to look it up on h-dnet.

Purchased in October 2011. I talked to dealer today and they will replace them. I suppose it is up to the dealer support on what can happen.

For over $900 for the three light set you can bet they need to step up and make it right.  Chuck, if I were you I'd call H-D direct and explain that you bought those overpriced lights based on the claims of longer life.  Since the plain old cheap halogen bulbs tend to last at least five or ten years, you should be able to reasonably expect more than ten months from those high priced LED's.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
