I have 208 Anniversary ultra that I got in April of 2008. Had upgrade done, but never had any leaks.  The only problem I have had are two sets of heated grips. 20,000 miles on bike.

If you are going to by newer than the '08 go with at least the '10 with the narrower seat.  My '09 with the new frame/seat was so wide it was uncomfortable. :worried2:

IMO, the new and old 103" is a better and smoother motor than the 110" and I've had more than my share of each.  My motto "you only live once" so do what makes you happy.

I also have a '08 Anniversary and absolutely love it!

No problems at all (touch wood) with 80+k on the dial.

Good luck!

I also have a '08 Anniversary and absolutely love it! Bought it November 2010 with 2,035 miles on it. Paid 24,500 + a 3 year ESP, don't remember how much I paid for that but it took the worry out of buying the 08 110. Only warrenty so far was the heated hand grips. I checked and the previous owner never had the headgasket recall done. The recall had exspired by the time I checked on it but it has never leaked a drop. THe service manager told me to not worry about it because the ESP will take care of it if it starts to leak. He told me just the othere day that if it hasn't shown a problem by now it most likly won't. He said most of the issues showed up in the first few thousend miles. It now has 20,000 and still runs like a watch. I have added stage 1 intake, Vance and Hines 4.5 ovals and a Power Commander. I had a 06 Deluxe Softail that I loved but the wife didnt think that the Softail was that soft on her tail so we traded up and glad we did. Have been on a few muti-day rides and one 10 day ride and couldn't be happier. When Mama is happy everybodys happy :-)

I had a ton of problems with my 2009 compensator. Only until it was change to the SE compensator did the problem go away.

Hey Retired Rider,

Damn!  I knew I should have waited... You got an excellent price on that beautiful bike.  As mentioned in an earlier post, I have over 80k on mine and never had the upgrade done because I never had a problem.  The service manager agreed with me... "not broke, don't fix it".  The bike is now 5 model years old and even though there have been some great looking newer models, I have yet to see one I like as much as mine.  Furthermore, I have ridden all the newer model year Ultras including now a 2013 and none have impressed me that much with having a better ride than my '08.  Not sure at this point if I will ever part with it, just keep servicing it regularly and just continue to enjoy the ride.

I still can't get over the incredible good deal you got.  Way to go!

Take care & ride safe,
Grizzly

Grizzly, Retired Rider, I have to agree with both of you.  I love my anniversary as well.  47,000+ kms, not a scaratch to speak of and runs and rides like a champion...1000kms a week lately and only problem is sore cheeks from a big, chit-eating grin while I am riding!  Only changes are 4" Rinehart slip-ons and a flared, 10" windshield.  By far my favorite Ultra to date, but to each thier own, just ride and smile people...

Just traded my 08 UCSE3, should have done it sooner.

I would not purchase a 06-08, both my 06 and 08 had too many issues to mention.

Have a 12 now, major difference in handling, stock drivability and quality. Have almost 8K on it and never has been to the shop, I keep looking for a "Honda" label on it but cant find it, guess Harley finally figured out the 110 engine.
