HD LED lamp vs our stock
« on: July 30, 2012, 04:30:25 PM »

Hi All,

I'm not happy with the lighting while riding at night. Before I go for $500+ for the HD led light. Is it worth it? and will I see a big difference? The sales guy bragged about how great the stock lamp is while purchasing the 2012 CVO SG.

Thanks.. as always, your feedback is great and very useful.

Yes its better, and yes you will notice a difference.  You might consider HID's as well.  My last bike had HID's and they are bright, the LED headlight I have on this bike is not as bright, but it generates a much wider light pattern the HID lights.

So one consideration is, do you need to throw light a mile down the road, or do you want a nice wide pattern to see those deer standing on the other side of the fence.  Also, the LED is pretty much plug and play, while the HID's will require some installation.

There have been a few threads lately.  This is the latest p-7 bulbs from Truck lite

Also I review I found on google....

About same price for headlamp and spots as HD headlight alone.  Wish they made one for my Road Glide.

most dealers will probably sell you the harley led's at 20% off...if yours won't find one that will...one of the best investments that I ever made

I live in a rural area and sometimes have to ride at night.  We have lots of deer around here so I bought the LED headlight and passing lamps.  It's unbelievable how much better I can see.  Make the purchase you won't regret it.

Dittos on the improved lighting at night.  The pattern it throws across six lanes of freeway at 05:30 each morning is much better than stock.  Then, if I have to turn on the high beems, it is awesome!

I took this picture right after installing the Phase 7 headlight.  Soon after the driving lights were replaced too.  I got the headlight for 249.00 and DL for around a 100 bucks a piece.  The $405.00 deal is even better than what I paid!
