What's the value of a tank and fenders off a 2011 convertible. Tank is perfect, fenders have scratches in the clear. See pics. Thanks

Frank, I might be interested but I will have to look into the value.  What are you doing with your bike?

Full MSRP from the parts catalog:

Fuel Tank - $1845.00
Front Fender - $1117.00
Rear Fender - $1723.00

So the price would be $4685.00 if you were to buy brand new from a dealer who doesn't discount.  As for the actual value as used parts, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay at any particular time, just like anything else that's for sale.

I replaced due to the scratches in the clear-coat. Yes, same colors as the bike was born with. Here is the ebay listing 180961793587

So you've never heard of wet sanding and polishing clear coat to remove surface defects?  It's done every day in automotive or motorcycle manufacturer's paint shops.  Or are the scratches on those parts actually more severe than you intimated and they can't be polished out?  I think we need a little more info and much better pictures.

GRC you can wet sand yours. I replaced mine. Yes the scratches on the front would probably come off by wet sanding but I doubt it would work on the rear.30K for this bike so I wanted perfect paint. If you are interested I can post better pics of the damage. Frank

I'm not interested in buying them Frank, just trying to figure out why you would replace parts with with minor flaws and then try to sell the old parts.  And I definitely do not understand why you would buy a brand new fuel tank when you describe the original as being "perfect".  Something just seems a little strange about this whole thing and I am a curious kind of guy.

Frank,  no offense it is just that you are new to the board and the story doesn't pass the "smell" test.  Yes the bike cost 30K, we all know that, we all have one.  Why would you spend 5K for a whole new set of tin that is the direct replacement for a set of perfectly good tin already on the bike (even the same paint scheme) when you could have the original set polished or painted for a whole lot less money?  Not saying that this is the case with your parts, but from time to time newbies show up on the board trying to sell stolen parts, so we are naturally a little curious and selective when the story seems odd.

Parts were replaced due to an insurance claim if you must know. These I can assure are all mine NOT STOLEN. Good thing all were replaced because the paint shade is a bit different than the originals and they would not have matched. Hope this clears things up.
