Hi everyone, I'm new to the CVO family and have enjoyed reading the posts prior to buying a 2010 Softail Convertible Inferno Orange and Black! I was wondering if anyone has pics with the flush mounted gas cap and gauge? Does the black match or does chrome look better?  Thanks

Inferno,

Someone did post pics of them on a 2010 in this forum a while back. Start looking at the oldest messages in the ConV forum and work your way forward and you'll find them.

I am curious; I have had many bikes and always wanted to replace the caps with the flush or aircraft style caps but never did it.  Are you guys doing this yourselves or having dealer/third party do it for you.  If you've done it yourself is it a tough job for someone with maybe better than average wrenching skills?  It's just something I always wanted to try, but for some reason I was always concerned that I would really screw up the paint trying to remove the old bungs.  Would love to hear from anyone with experience.

Mine was done as part of the new bike purchase, sorry.  I was told though that on the 11 and later softails it's a real pain.  Don't know but something about the new wiring and you have to chase wires down to the fuel pump.  Prior to 11 I don't think they are too bad.  The fill side just screws in I think.

Kisscorky, love the look of those caps.  Did you have to remove the old bungs?  If yes, how did you do that without ruining the paint?  I have always heard that getting the old bungs out was a pain in the #ss.
