SCREAMIN EAGLE SLIP ONS
« on: September 18, 2012, 11:52:19 AM »

Is it possible to remove the baffels in these? My friends bike has 2 button head screws with a bolt on the inside.

The head appears to be Torx with a small rise in the center preventing the tool from engaging.

Thank for your assistance.

Sure most any Hardware store has Torx bits with a recess to fit the safety screws , ive removed dozens of them.

Thanks Dartman, would you happen to know what size Torx is needed?

If these SE pipes are part# 80679-12 the entire  baffle is not removable, it is welded in the front part of the pipe. It has a cat in the rear of the pipe.  The only thing removable is a portion of the rear tailpipe in front of the cat.

I just installed these on my 12 Softail SE3 along with the Nightrider XIADS, and they perform very well, and are somewhat louder than stock. Unbelievable  difference over the stock mufflers, especially from 2200 RPM and up, Also, the rough engine around 2200-2500 RPM is gone, very smooth very strong through the entire RPM range, smoother idle, now sounds like a Harley !!
