OK, I'll admit to not looking into it too deeply yet, but thought I'd throw it out there for advice....

 Not thrilled with the factory heated grips on my '15 Road Glide CVO, they're just not real comfortable IMO. Hard and bad texture
for my tastes.  Am I stuck with spending $269 for another set of bad OEM grips??

No.

Other companies like HotGrips are around. Even Avon has a line of heated grips. Just do a search. If you find grips you like and they are not heated, just install Heat Demons inside the bar ends.

Momentarily excited here, I like a lot of Avon's grips, and then I see this on Avon's site,  "Our heated grips will not work on 2015 Road Glides."

DOH!!!

I see what I was after now, Older "heated grips" were inserts that went in the bars, now days the grips themselves are wired, so when you replace the grip, you replace the heat too.

Hmmm.........
