factory heated seat?
« on: October 05, 2012, 08:29:15 PM »

I have 2011 FLTRUSE with the factory heated seat, not working now, looked at fuse panel could not find fuse for it. Does anyone know where the fuse is for the seat and where does it hook into harness, Thanks for any help.

Make sure it is plugged in under the seat. Dealer left mine unplugged after some service work last year.

Unplug the seat and put a test light on it.

At least you will know if you have power or not and which direction to troubleshoot.

Not that many fuses and they're all in one place.  Takes longer to get the fuse panel out and the cover off than it would to probe them all with your test light.

...and make sure the accessory switch is turned on as the first bit of troubleshooting.  Not that uncommon that the seat socket mistakenly get plugged in to the accessory plug.

Yep, this is the most common mistake. Seat is plugged into the wrong outlet under the seat. There are 2 identical plugs under the seat. 1 is live all the time for the heated seat. The other is connected to the accessory switch and will only have power when the accessory switch on the dash is on. If you seat heats up with the accessory switch on but does produce heat when the switch is off then the seat is plugged in to the wrong outlet. Easy fix.
