Dumb question here
« on: October 14, 2012, 01:26:31 PM »

I started my SESG to warm up cuz I hadn't started it in a while. It fired right up and is idling smoothly but when I put my hands on exhaust one side feels warm the other is just cool air. I throttle up and everything is fine and smooth. But when I let it idle and feel exhaust again it's cool on one side warm on the other. What gives? Normal?

I think it's the way the cross over works. At low throttle/RPM more gas goes out one side than the other. If the bike has not been running long enough the low flow side has not heated up as much as the high flow side (right side) so the gas coming out feels cooler. You will alse notice (if you check) the right side is hotter after short, low speed rides (around town in traffic).

I believe that if you're running stock.  If you go after market and lose the Cat, it will be much more even....and run much better!
