Sudden radio inteference
« on: October 15, 2012, 08:19:31 PM »

My '02 e-glide suddenly started having engine induced interference in the radio.  I put a hidden antenna on it about 8 years ago but other than that it's stock.  Always worked fine then today I'm cruisin' down the road and all of a sudden a whine starts coming out of the radio.  Rev the motor and the whine matches the enging rev.   If the motor isn't running the radio works fine.

Came out of nowhere!!!   Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

I have had that happen when I would have something pluged into the AUX plug and it had broek loose.  Since you did not mention that I suppose that is not happening.

Could be an issue with the grounding of the radio.

+1 on the grounding. I'm not familiar with how it connects, but if through a plug-in connector you may want to double check it hasn't worked itself loose over the years.
