I think what you are hearing is just the normal mechanical component noise of a harley engine. Get some loud pipes and you won't even notice it. If you want that smooth purr like a porsche, then stick w/ the metrics. If you  want that clunky shifting transmission and ticking motor, then you've got to love the harley, after all, it's part of the harley charisma.
