It's just about here. Wind 35-50 sustained and heavy rain. Power just went out two doors down. Was outside when it went off---whew!!! Huge flash about 100ft away, went off like a cannon. Eye expected in Atlantic City between 6 and 7, expected right over my area around 2030. Will know when the wind stops. Surrounded by large trees, hoping they stay intact. Big shout out for HD Gortex rain suit and FXRG boots, dry as could be after half hour outside cleaning street drains. Not as much water here as hogasm. More later.      JoeS

50 MPH sustained wind and 75 MPH gust hell that is a spring/fall day in Oklahoma.

Now put 10 foot of water behind that wind :huepfenlol2:

Power is finally out for good!  Lots of trees down here. We got spared most of the rain but the wind is brutal!

5 fatalities in NYC, there is salt water entering the Battery tunnel and the subways.

They are saying the water there is 13 feet higher than normal there!

Trees and wires down everywhere. Been told it could be till Monday before we see any electric :o

No property damage to speak off. A few missing shingles is all. So we're not so lucky. My neighbor down the hill from me has a tree thru his house!  His family is ok thank god.

Just in case someboy didn't cross reference this, it was not a true report.  Several sorces reported this last night around high tide, but then it was confirmed as a false report.

Could have been a lot worse here last night. Wind backed around 2030 as the eye approached and never picked up. Power out for 24hrs. Problems were location related as much as anything. NYC and Jersey shore were in a "perfect storm". Yard is debris strewn, house is intact, just another big storm. Can't wait till it snows.      JoeS

Sent a text message Howie's way early this morning.  Finally got a little cell magic and got an answer back this evening.  They're ok as are his kids.  He's on LI so it was good to hear back to know for sure.  Without power for awhile but all ok.
