Progressive 944 and Monotubes on FLHRSE4
« on: November 22, 2012, 10:37:59 AM »

I spoke to Progressive yesterday.  They suggested normal duty 944 shocks for the rear as I weigh in at about 210lbs (say Heavy duty shocks are for 225lbs plus) and monotubes.

On the monotubes they thought the front end of my 2008 FLHRSE4 was stock height while the rear was 1" lower than a standard road king.  They suggested I confirm the front end as they weren't 100% sure.

Anyone know if the front suspension on a FLHRSE4 is standard height and the rear is 1" lower?

I believe both front and rear are 1" lower than stock touring height. Just like the Street Glide and Road King Customs are/were. If that is the case I would leave the height the same up front but definately change out the springs. I went with their drop in lowering kit (which is not actually drop in with touring trees) in my 07 Road King Custom. The upgraded springs and fluid up front made a day and night difference, but the lowered height, although bitchin looking, really detracted from my lean angle. Also had an effect on my kickstand and how and where I could park the bike. Going an inch lower in the rear however, if thats what you desire is very doable. I used Arnott's with the onboard compressor, which worked fantastic and definately added some major cool factor. FWIW  :coolblue:

I would suggesting contacting Ricor. I believe they are a much better set up.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Pretty sure your rear is lower one inch and front it stock.  That is how I was told my FLHRSE5 is.

I know that is how my FLTRXSE is and how my FLTRSE3 was.

I had the stock height mono tubes and 944s on my FLTRSE3 it was a nice set up.  Did the same on my wifes 11 Street glide.
