« on: November 28, 2012, 12:03:29 PM »

You might want to search on Youtube.  Amazing how many "how to" videos there are.

Since you didn't mention what bike it is you're speaking of and you don't have it in your profile is it safe to assume you are speaking of the bike in your avatar which is some type of Electra Glide? Might help if you state model and year of your bike so you can get the correct information. :nixweiss:

Someone else doing the disassembly?

Assuming not just take a bunch of pics during disassembly and you'll have bike specific documentation for the reassembly.

Or let Dood do it.  He's good; especially with hinges.

I think it's an '03 ElectraGlide. :nixweiss:

If the bike hasn't been taken apart yet, one good idea would be to take lots of photos during the disassembly process.  I've found it invaluable when trying to remember how wiring was routed for instance.  If you don't have a shop manual, I'd definitely recommend getting one.

Good luck, and have fun.

That is one thing that I have used working on the bike... but you better believe it was nowhere near painted parts. :nervous:

If you are doing the disassemble, mark all the wires in the fairing prior to inner removal. Take pictures of wire routing and note any bends during Assembly that will help with re routing. Put select location bolts, screws, etc in separate marked baggies (IE, fairing bolts in one, radio mount in another)
