Same issue on a 2011 RG Ultra.  Decel, at 43, wobble was only noticable if you take your hands off the bars, then it would go crazy until about 37.   I could barely feel anything when i had my hands on the bars.  Dealer service tech tightened it up at the 10k mark and didn't experience it again over the next 10k miles, before I traded it in on a new 2013 SERGX.  I'm at 2k miles on it and nothing so far.

The tech told me that cupped tires would amplify the effect, but I changed mine about 200 miles after the service and didn't notice a difference.

I'll let you know if the new bike ever experiences it.

I  have a old railroad maintenance manual from the 1870's that goes into great detail about how crush depth tensions are very fickle, must be checked regualrly and are in general unreliable... 2012 and the moco hasn't figured this out?

I had the 40 MPH wobble on decel with my 2012 FLTRXSE.  Over strenuous objections, the mechanic at Longhorn HD cranked down my neck bearing so that it made barely 1 swing.  I told him if he didn't, I would do it on my own.  Now, the wobble is mostly gone.  I actually like the slightly tighter steering better.

Two things...

My '12 FLTRXSE was far worse steering wise than my '09 FLTRSE3 ever was.

Both had neck bearings adjusted multiple times... better each time. I think the dealer techs were afraid to crank down on it.

Finally... the wobble was almost gone on the '12, but when pushing the right bar while coming into a long right sweeper, I could feel the bar pushing back at me in a cyclic motion.

Apparently the D407/D408F is a dual compound tire... hard in the center, but softer on the sides for more bite.

Good in concept.. but it appeared there was a spot of "hard compound" on the right side of the tire. this was only noticable with the bike leaned over in a long sweeper... but not on the left. New tire fixed it... so far 7K and no issues since.

Never had the steering wobble / shake on deceleration on my 09 FLTRSE3 in 43K miles

It reared its head at 17K miles.  Had dealer adjust, was back at 20K miles.  Had them adjust and let them know to do it to the RG specs not the other touring models.  Much better now.  We will see in a few thousand more miles.

No shake at all on the King so far, but it only has 2505 miles on it.

'Have a strong feeling that the new tires (with the different compounds / profiles / sizes) are a contributing factor, if not the cause.

On the '09 SERG the MoCo had a recall on the front (mine was cupping at 2k mi.)
The rear was cupping at 5k mi. Dealer ESP'd it for me.

I have owned Harleys since '76 and have not had any "tire drama" or "handling issues" with any of the others that I owned previously or currently ~ except the '09  SERG.

Harley/Dunlop might could have done a little more R&D (big suprise there!)

Just noticed over the weekend, put the cruise on at 40 mph. So I could let go of the bars for a second and started to fell the wobble. Didn't seem to do it at any other time. I guess it's trial and error? From tire, head bearing torque ......tire pressure???? Seems to handle good besides that.

Sounds like the neck bearing issue.  Needs to have the fall a way test and adjustment done.  Road Glide is different speck than the other Touring bikes.  Had the issue with my 12.  That solved it, and it was in the 40 mph area .
