2007 Exhaust question
« on: September 05, 2006, 02:31:16 PM »

The new RG ships this Friday (9/8) After reading what Otis had to say about the sound from the 07 he rode and hearing one the other day, I was thinking of putting my stock 03 SERK mufflers on the new RG. Head pipe diameter is the same so they should fit up ok.

Big B;
Don't know the answer for sure but the flow may be quite a bit different on the 03 mufflers. I think the 07's have Catalytic's in them, I know the 05 and 06's did.

Jim,
       Oh yeah, the 07's have catalytic in them big time. The 03 does not. I have heard of folks swappin out muffs only on 05's and 06's without any ECM issues. A buddy of mine put a set of 03 SERK muffs I gave him on his 05 UC without any problems at all. Just wondering if it will work on the 07.

Buddy of mine put the SE Pro Performance slip-ons, 65115-98B, on his '06 Autumn Haze without any other mods - no air cleaner, no SERT, power commander or re-flash, just stock ECM.

Thanks,
           You response makes sense. Lets see if we get any other feedback. Usually Jerry ( GRC) has some solid advice.

Thanks,
            So this would mean that even if my new 97 Road Glide has catalyst mufflers, it will run properly without them. - - - - - correct ?

Spiderman:

My understanding is none of the '07 Touring bikes have catalyst mufflers except the CVO offerings.

Brian,

I'm not sure if that statement about the '07 O2 sensor bikes not requiring a catalyst is for

Stopped by San Diego H-D today to see if my new RG had shipped. It left the factory on 8/6, but could be sitting in a truck. Sales Mgr said to plan on next Thursday ( 9/14) for pickup. While I was there, I spoke to the Service Mgr (Worked on Juneau Ave for years )
