Fullsac canned tune
« on: December 29, 2012, 01:30:28 PM »

Is anyone using the canned tune on there bike and what are your thoughts as to how it runs? I am looking at the Fullsac x-pipe and tts tuner already have the 2 inch baffles and love them, just not real comfortable with the whole computer thing. Seems anything would be better than what came stock on my 2012 cvo ultra. Thanks for any and all replys.

I would suggest getting/ordering the TTS & X-Pipe from Fulsac. Steve then will send you a map that he has done

all the work for you.

You can't go wrong with the Fulsac set up, and you already have the baffles.

A LOT if not most the folks here have been pretty darn happy with this set up.

Good Luck w/ your project!

Maybe I need to clarify a little I am going to use Steve at Fullsac for my parts but was wondering how well the tts map that he provides works. I know I know can get more with the vtune but I'm using a friends laptop as it is to download the tune. Maybe at some point I can look into it but not looking to at this time.

The map Steve provides will be close but for the best possible tune your best bet is to go to a good dyno tuner who knows TTS to get it spot on. Every engine run slightly different.

I'm using Fullsac 1.75" baffles, the X-Pipe "C" and the "canned" map from Steve on my FLHTCUSE6 and I love the way it runs. If I decide to upgrade further with cams or..... I will then invest in some Dyno time

Can't go wrong with the Fullsac settup and the customer support is outstanding.

My bike has been running fine for 2 years with the map Steve provided for my "B" pipe and 2" cores.  No popping, no nothing.  Gets decent mileage.  Could I get just a bit more out of it?  Maybe, and if I'm ever around a place where there is a REALLY good tuner, I might have it fine tuned just to say I've done it, but I don't feel the need to have it done.  The TTS Software makes it easy to upload/download.

I know a lot of people say "every motor is different", so needs to be tuned, and I'm sure I could squeeze out a tiny bit more, but I personally don't subscribe to the school of thought that my bike is THAT much different than the bike(s) Steve used to come up with a map that works just fine in 95% of bikes with his pipe/cores.  If your bike starts fine, idles fine, has great throttle response, pulls hard, doesn't backfire, never pings, gets 40+ miles to a gallon (the way I ride), the only reason to put it on a Dyno is to tweak a little more HP/TQ out of it, or slightly improve fuel mileage, etc., and there's no guarantee of that.  There are exceptions to everything though...

:2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:    Right on the money Terry.

There was a time not all that long ago when the variation from bike to bike at Harley was ridiculous.  I know, I still have one example that didn't run worth crap with the stock map or the Harley download or a canned map from T-Max, etc.  But, thanks to ever tightening emission regulations Harley finally had to reduce the variability.  These days there are a lot fewer obvious differences from one bike to the next, so a canned map is much more likely to work fine for the vast majority.  The closed loop bikes actually learn and adjust and store offset data automatically to further refine the calibration, and that continues to be the case if you use a tuning device and map that retains closed loop.  Fullsac's solution is one of those that retains closed loop operation.

I also agree with Midnight Rider . . . I just installed the C pipe, 2" baffles and used Steve's TTS map and I couldn't be happier. The biggest improvement is that the searing heat is gone!!! Not only that, but the performance has improved also. Throttle response has also improved. FullSac is a great outfit and really stands by their products and service.

Unless you are looking to drag or roadrace, you can't beat the overall package.

I just put the same settup on my bike.  Same bike as yours right down to the paint job.  I agree that the canned map works great.  Heat is really reduced and throttle response and power seems to have increased.
