Easy way to remove the rocker cover on a 2007 FLHTCUSE2
« on: April 20, 2013, 12:06:54 PM »

OK so I would like to know if there is a easy way to remove the rocker cover and the rocker housing of the rear cylinder of a 2007 Electra CVO without getting the motor out of the frame. I have done it but it was a real pain to do it. First the front left screw of the cover couldn't get out because of the frame, I manged to get it out unscrewing the upper motor mount and pushing the motor with a bar while a friend take the screw out.
Then I had the same problem with the screws of the support of the rocker arm. And finally the rocker housing was locked betwin the valve springs and the frame, I asked a HD mechanical  here in France and he just said that they force on the springs and push it to get it out.
Is there an other way to do it more softly?

I wonder if there is an anomoly with your frame or motor mounting.  I have an 07 SEUC and have no problem removing the rear rocker box cover.  I don't have to manipulate the motor or loosen the upper mount - nothing - to remove the rocker box cover.   :nixweiss:

If you slow down,  :-[ you can finesse the assembly out. When removed, grind or turn down(shorten) the top left rocker cover bolt. Remove the rocker saddle, and shorten the 2 bolts on the left side. You should never have a removal problem again.  :o

It's true that the welding on the frame is not really good made and it seems to be bigger than it should. And the head of the front left screw arrives just on it.
There is no way to adjust the motor vertical position to get it lower?
