Thanks everyone for all your great advise.  Somehow I just knew JC would have a super looking pickup in his stable.  Love the colour JC.

I took delievery of my new pickup and decided to go with the Bak Flip G2 model for the tonneau cover... In our changing climate here I was warned that the roller type covers will eventually give me trouble with binding etc. after all the dirt, salt, rust and everything else gets inside.  I think the Bak Flip will suit my purposes and I love the low profile it has.

This is my first pickup truck and I'm quickly realizing that pickup truck owners may be just as crazy as Harley riders for accessorizing their rides.  :o

Thanks again.   :2vrolijk_21:

PS - This picture was taken Feb 2nd and with the total lack of snow we have here, I guess it's true that Wiarton Willie is predicting and early spring!  Hooray, we'll be back in the saddle in no time.  :bananarock:

I have this one from Truck Covers USA.  Works great!

Have the same cover with the toolbox option.
Works great even with the New Jersey weather

I once had a Pace Edwards that did wear out but the way this Truck Covers cover is made I don't see that happening.

Looks great!  Hope you like it as well as I like the one I have - has been a great cover & you can stand on it if you need to.

Welcome to the Dark Side of truck ownership, where money disappears......  ;D

From somebody that's done this on several different trucks let me just say that you've got your homework cut out for you.

What is the purpose of your truck and what is the "look" that you want?

Do you ever plan on hauling anything of any size?  If so, then you may want to consider a sliding top.  They make an electric sliding tonneau that actually has a small built in tool box at the front of it.

Do you want it to lock to the tailgate?

Are you looking for a high profile or low profile?  Here's a pic of my Silverado with the lowest profile lid I've ever seen...water tight and it locked to the tailgate...

and the company for that lid.....

You might also want to consider a heavy duty rubber bed mat to keep things from sliding all around under there.....money well spent wether you have a lid or not. :2vrolijk_21:

A number of other selections....  http://www.campway.com/products/lids.html
