I am pretty interested in this.  When you say you gained 12 horse, was there anything else that you did besides the throttlebody?  I have just recently put in 10.5 to 1 pistons and 259e cams.  Just wondering if I should think about upgrading my throttlebody too.  In looking at their website, it looks like $360 would get my throttlebody reworked.  $360 seems pretty cheap for 12 horse, but an additional 12 horse seems like wishful thinking without maybe headwork along with it.  Thanks for any help and advice you all have.

Several on here have HPI throttle bodies.

I think most have some high compression pistons, cams, and head work when they go to a larger throttle body.

A little bit of head work would really help with your combination along with a 55mm throttle body, and some 5.3 injectors.

You might get 3 to 5 more ponies from a larger TB but you're not going to see more than that just from a TB change alone.

Thanks everyone.  I think I will probably go with the throttle body and injector change this year since it is cheap enough for me and I can not ride the damn thing anyway in IL right now.  Next winter will be headwork then.

I have a 120R in my Ultra built from parts. Using a T-Man 625 cam, SE MVA heads, and stock throttle body with 5.3 injectors. Have a "B" pipe from FulSac with the SE muffs that look like SuperTrapp's.
Thin it is worth increasing the size of the throttle body? Meaning performance gain vs dollars spent?
I have been thinking about the one from S&S but it would be over $600 with a new A/C plus another dyno tune session.

Thanks for your opinions.

Not to jump this thread but; I am going with the SE Stage III pro kit~259s, 10.5-1 pistons (might go with a tuner other than the SERT) to go with my V&H power duals x pipe and K&N in the Ventilator AC)

Would appreciate any input (pro or con) as to larger/ported Throttle Body (with or without Heads / headwork)

If I am butting in too much on this thread, just let me know and I will start a new thread :) :) :)

Floridaheatwave,

If you have the heads off you might as well have them checked, cleaned, CC'd and then fix the exhaust port and maybe have a good valve job done to accentuate the money you are already putting into this build.   Figure out what your pistons are in the hole, have the heads setup to match that, spin drop them to make up for the in the hole so you get proper squish, setup your cometic headgasket for .030-0.037 squish with a 55 or 58mm with the larger injectors and go down the road happy.   I would try to stay around 10:1 compression to remove a lot of the pms or there abouts.

May /want/need/should go .005 or .010 over on the pistons to be sure you have a good bore on the cylinders and go from there.   Might pm or call John Sachs on this site since your in Florida to take a look at those heads off your 110.

Good luck with the build.

Like the OP, I was also seeking input on the Throttle Body.
Do you have any contact info for John Sachs?

Thanks
