Red Key Light ON!

Ok so rolling into work this afternoon my red key light was on for a while and then went out.

I did have the battery out and re-installed it when hooking up my stereo equipment.


Any Ideas? :confused5:

Did you install anything electronic on your rig lately?  I noticed the same thing when I installed the Custom Dynamics glow ring/turn signals on the front of Ginger without a voltage regulator/relay.  When I used the turn signals, the key would flash and stay on about 4 seconds then go out OR would go out if I cancelled the turn signal.  Took the lights off and went back to stock until my voltage regulator gets in and I can install it.  Rep from Cus. Dyn. said as much.
May not be what's going on with your scooter but never know.... :)

I did install Headwinds LED Spot lights.

isnt it winter where your at ???
im here in mich waitin for spring about got the paint waxed off her lol

Had to ride to get it to Puzzled's house after work and in the trailer for DAYTONA!!!!!

In regards to the comment on the turn signals.... you did ditch your OEM front signals for LED's. Now the fancy turn signal box you installed should have taken care of the load equalization part.

I'm thinking the loss of ground was sending all sorts of weird codes. I'm curious to see what the HD tech finds with the scanner.

I have not read into it so I'm curious to know if we could read and reset codes with the TTS tuner. I ask as I can do this with the tuner in my Diesel.

Red key lite on apparently means there are codes in the computer. Went to HD and they cleared all the codes that of course I caused by missing a ground wire when done with mods and then restarting and taking a rip around the block with a missing ground wire. All is well, I think! We will find out in Florida!

So if your red key light comes on while riding there are codes that poped and need to be cleared.  Easy to do yourself I find out.

We'll have to do some investigating and try to familiarize ourselves with what the codes mean.

I installed LED F&R turn signals. All work fine except when I have a turn signal on and hit the front brake all 4 lights flash just like the hazzards. When I let front brake off.....back to normal :nixweiss:
