« on: March 17, 2013, 05:09:37 PM »

I see in the HD catalog, the display stand will not work on the CVO. Anyone found an alternative to sitting the bike upright?

For around the garage I use a Wheeldock to have the bike upright in a safe manner.

It also could be used in a trailer with the correct mounting parts.

Too big to lug around for parking lots though......    ;D

I need one on the bike. We travel alot, & it would be easier to clean & check tires when in for the nite. Thanks for the reply.

A real center stand would be the best solution.  There are several choices out there, I personally use one from Rivco.  Harley sells one but it supposedly won't work with the adjustable rear footrest mounts on certain CVO's, and then there is one called EZ-UP by Wheeldock.

The adjustable Rivco or Harley stands are much more useful than the old display stands, as they allow you to get the rear tire off the ground and they also tend to be much more stable.  The EZ-UP isn't designed to actually lift the tire off the ground, but that also makes it much easier to deploy and retract.

I'd steer clear of the Harley center stand. I bought one for my 'USE, but found that the foot lever extension was too short and was blocked by the passenger footrest when retracted.  Made raising the bike onto the stand a difficult, and somewhat dangerous, event. When I had a Baker oil pan installed, I didn't even bother to have the stand put back on.  I'll look at the other makes, but for what I paid for the H-D piece, I was quite disappointed.

Had this product on my 2010 easy to use once you get use to it. Suggest putting kickstand down, may prevent you from dropping your bike. Only problem I had was dragging it when riding aggressively. They only take about 15 minutes to install and remove so I've decided to just put in on my 2013 when I travel or going to a large parking lot function.
