Do the '08 CVO's have the same suspension? I thought the IDS was supposed to help with the rear stability and handling? Can you give me some more info on the Progressive brace and did it correct the problem?
IDS (isolated drive system) is to reduce drive line jerkiness.  Don't think it would have much, if any, affect on stability and handling.  The new frame was introduced in MY2009 so I think your 2008 has the 'old style' frame.  In that case some folks have installed stabilizers like True-Track, etc.  They claim to help stability and handling my reducing the 'rear steer' effect.  Other companies have their own versions of products similar to this.

My 05 ultra was no different than the 12 cvo ultra I have now. Have heard all kinds of reasons for this happening in other threads on here but haven't had any trouble myself. Hopefully it stays that way both bikes move alittle behind big trucks but then again so does my brothers 07 soft tail custom.

Movement behind large trucks but all my baggers had that issue.  Rides great otherwise.

Every time I start thinking my SEUC has a wind problem, I jump on my wifes Road King and ride around the block and that windy thinking goes away! Big rigs always cause problems.

Turbulence behind a semi is the least of my concerns.  I see way too many blown retreads lying around the road to know that I shouldn't linger too long behind the source.

x2 also why I don't ride after dark anytime I don't have to. Hitting one of those chunks of tire at night could be ugly.

Bought a set of Agitator wheels (18/18) and Jim installed them today.  The bike looks better, rides great, is totally stable, and is fun to ride finally.  My suggestion to anyone that isn't satisfied with their SEUC's handling/stability is to change out the Chisel wheels.
