Adjusted rear shocks
« on: February 26, 2013, 09:53:54 PM »

I noticed my 2012 rear shocks seemed somewhat soft and bottomed out more than I like.  I weigh 170 and do not carry a passenger.  Bike has 2500 miles on it.

Purchased the shock adjusting tool from Harley, read the manual on how to firm up the shock and adjusted it two turns toward firm and what a difference, no more bottoming out, doesn't scrape the floorboards as bad in the turns.  Still has quite a bit of shock action for a great ride.  Major difference !!

I have a 2011 ConV and had the opposite experience.  From the dealer mine was so preloaded that it was bone jarring.  After easing of the preload she has run just fine even when the little woman rides with me.

I had to do the same thing with my 2010.  I think I can go one more turn, however.
