From what I am told........not only can't get paint, can't get the code.

Exactly correct! i have a buddy trying to do the same and has been told they will not supply the paint or codes!

I am having enough made to paint a tour pack.  My shop is going to try and match as ell as he can.  Not cheap.

Sometimes you can work from a House of Kolor paint book to match up the colors. From what i understand the paint on the stock (non CVO) bikes is PPG and the Custom & CVO stuff is primarily HoK. Unfortunately it isn't just as simple as buying a quart of paint. Most of the time the colors are not just basecoat/clearcoat, they are tri-coats with base, mid/intercoat with pearls/flakes or other special effects THEN clear. You seriously sometimes are better to just step up and buy it painted from HD unless you have a skilled painter/experimenter close by, that is if you want it dead nuts anyway.

So if your family pet scratches your paint, you are now faced with replacing the part with factory painted parts? Same thing if you BSR scratches your saddle bag lid? 
Gotta love owning one of these "special" bikes...

I am just waiting for helmets being painted in Atomic orange and Galaxie grey. Matching the graphics on the '13 RG. We did a color match with the camera..........we will see how close they get.
