Front brakes are terrible!!
« on: April 29, 2013, 08:20:01 PM »

I was able to take my first ride this Sunday on the new used Skunk I bought. When you apply the front brakes the bars shake like crazy. I put it on the lift and checked runout of the rotors, and had .008 and .011 left and right. The bike was a MOCO execs bike and I purchased it from a dealer in Wisconsin whom I have e-mailed about this. It had 12000 miles on it. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue of warped rotors? I understand that there is some pulsing associated with ABS, but this could get scary! Hoping I hear back tomorrow from the dealer on a direction to take, as there is warrenty until the end of July.

Many (including myself) have had rotors warp (and replaced under warranty).

To answer your question, yes MANY people have had rotor problems, especially over the past five years.  Cheap parts purchased from the lowest bidder.

Last time I checked the MoCo had an absolutely ludicrous maximum acceptable tolerance on their rotors of .008".  At that level of runout they will shake the front end like it had palsy, and it's not acceptable or safe.  It looks like yours are even beyond Harley's BS tolerance.  And yes, it is a warrantable item.
