Yeah, the harley chrome visor ring things with lenses do not fit real well, I ended up putting a thin coat of silicone on mine when installing them to keep them sealed better and in place.

The seal (or lack of) around the front lenses on our bike is certainly an issue.

You really fall when you get wet riding or is it you get wet when you fall?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I just rode through my first really heavy downpour this past weekend.

The stock windshield is not tall enough.

It was more like wrinkles than bubbles.  And we certainly needed a sponge (and a chamois and a big towel or three).  This year, however, Brian is guaranteeing good weather or your money back.

I have put silicone on the lenses after the tabs break off, the problem is then if you wash or ride your bike in the rain the covers will hold water in them and will ruin the socket if you dont catch it in time.

I've had to replace a number of them.......one melted from bulb heat, most break where the 'tab' is.......  arrrrgh. >:(  spyder

The tabs break off. then you dont want to ride it to the stealer without your covers on, and the bastar*s fall off. Tried silicone to hold them on and if your not careful they will hold water.
Oh well this time the stealer would not cover them under warranty since they were not on the bike when I took it to them.

I get that now, I didn't realize the water was going in from behind and above. I got to lookin and wonder if it is mostly the right bulb (Left facing it)? This could be because when sitting, the mounting point on the legs of the whole assembly it is the exposed high side while the other side receives some shelter? Maybe I could rig up a gasket. I didnt totaly seal the lens with the silicone so its not holding water but holding the ring firm, been a month no problem and several rides in the rain, but no wash. ( I generally wash lil by lil with a wash cloth, have yet to car wash her.)

guess we'll just have to replace 'um like we do bulbs and spark plugs on a 'as needed' basis.  One more thing to take my T-shirt money.  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] har!  spyder
