I am buying a Typhoon Maroon CVO Ultra next week, and was wondering what size the Stock windshield should be, as I was at 2 different dealers with CVO's, and they both had different size windshields on their bikes.
I think the dealer I am buying from has a short shield on there, but I was wondering if it was supposed to be a 12", or an 8" or something else like a 6"?

I know a 6" is too short for me, and 12" too long, I prefer 8", so just want to make sure I get what is SUPPOSED to come with the bike from the dealer.

Stock SE Ultra shield is 10 inches.

My stock shield measured 9 1/2" from the trim piece to the top, so I guess it would be called a 10". It was the first change I made to the bike because it was too short for me.

According to parts manuals the CVO Ultra windshield is p/n 58303-96, Windshield Smoked 2 1/2 Under.  Since the stock Ultra windshields are about 12", I guess that would make the CVO version about 9.5".

As for seeing two CVO's at different dealers with different shields installed, that's not necessarily unusual.  Either the factory screwed up and installed the wrong one (wrong parts installed is more common now that CVO's are assembled on the same assembly line as the regular bikes), or perhaps the dealership swapped it out for a potential customer and the sale fell through.  Not a biggie either way, if your bike comes in with a shield that doesn't fit you get the dealer to swap it out.  Considering the huge profit they make on a CVO Ultra I'm pretty sure they could absorb any tiny difference in the shields.

I found the stock 9-1/2" shield too low for my 6'4" frame.  I just installed an 11" Fast Aire brand aero windshield with recurve and have far less wind buffeting.  For a shorter person I'm guessing the 10" would be a good choice.  http://www.fastaire.com/Aero.html
