Colorado Monday 6/10
« on: June 07, 2013, 10:41:42 PM »

Flying out to Denver on Monday to pick up my new / used 2009 SERG from High Country HD. I will be takin a road trip for my return home.

Question: What route for scenic views should I take enroute to South Louisiana. Help from someone in Colorado, NW Texas, maybe even New Mexico.

Thanks in Advance,
Paul Breaux

About what time do you expect to be at High Country?  It is only 12 miles from my house and I might be able to ride over to see you..

You can take 287 from Limon all the way to Fort Worth. Goes through panhandle of Oklahoma, panhandle of Texas, Amarillo down to Wichita Falls then to Fort Worth.

More scenic route might be I-25 to New Mexico. Cross over at Raton Pass into Texas and cross over to Amarillo and then pick up 287.

Should be at Airport for 7:40 am, then gotta find a shuttle to get to High Country. By the time I et out the airport and shuttle to Fredrick, they should be opening...

That ride thru NM sounds good...

Whatever you do, DO NOT take 70 across Kansas and go south through Oklahoma! I've driven that route many times going home to Texas and driving through Kansas makes suicide seem like a good thing.

If you are riding I25 south around noon & close to Colorado Springs give me a call & we can go to lunch. Or if you need a place to stay do to it getting late, your welcome to stay at my house. I will pm you my #. Maybe there are others on your route that can offer a room for your trip.

It was great to meet you at High Country Paul.  You did get a beautiful looking bike.  I hope your ride home is enjoyable and all goes well.
