I have a 2006 FXDLI which used to have quite a hot 95" motor in it.
About 6 Months ago we transplanted a 2011 CVO 110" Motor which had had the SE performance upgrade installed.
IE Forged pistons, SE259E Cams etc.
With a Thunderheader this was putting out 114HP/113 Torque at the rear wheels which was great but I never liked how the bike performed down low.
Yes I know it was in part due to the Thunder header and the cams.
Anyway after a mechanic friend of mine replaced the lifters in a CVO 110" motor which had caused about $3k worth of damage from failing he suggested we replace the lifters in mine for safety's sake.
So what we ended up doing was:
Getting heads ported & polished, valves reseated, decked and whatever else needed doing.
SE Throttle body polished etc
S&S Roller Rockers
AV&V High lift springs
Woods TW408-6 Cams
Woods Lifters
SE Adjustable Push rods
We picked it up from the tuners yesterday who spent 2 days tuning it and who was nice enough to let me film a couple of power runs.
It now puts out 131HP and 128 Pds/Torque at the rear wheels. Tuning was done on a dynojet and when he emails me the chart I will post it.
Now I'm not a mechanic and while numbers are all good and fine, they don't mean jack s**t if you don't like the way the bike runs or feels.
I enjoy riding hard and so when I rang and chatted to Bob Woods he asked me all the right questions "how do you ride?", "What do you want to achieve?', etc, etc, etc.
I live in New Zealand so we don't have as much choice as you guys in Oz or The States.
Well the rain held off enough today for me to take it for it's first strop on the road.
Mr Woods, You Sir are an absolute genius!!!
The bike now performs EXACTLY how I want it to. Power right from the get go.
Even though Boarzillas are supposed to be for 117" motors and up D&D said that my application would be fine due to the head work etc etc.
I love the sound of these pipes. When the bike accelerates it now sounds like a vrod on steroids.
I don't think they're as loud as the Thunderheader. Maybe it's just that the Boarzilla is deeper in tone.
Just need to sort out a couple of minor issues. Looks like a leaky pushrod tube. And to re-check the pushrods.
There seems to be a ticking noise. Mechanics not sure if It's just the aggressive cams and lifters, pushrods, or a combination of all three.
All I can say is roll on summer!!!
