13 CVO RK security Siren
« on: May 26, 2013, 11:52:47 PM »

I have the pager from my last bike I want to put on the CVO, but it has to be a smart siren II for it to work.
Does anyone know which siren is installed from the factory?
There are 2 different kinds I think, 1 is just a siren the other is the smart siren.
Thanks

More than likely (like has been in the past) it's only the smart siren. If you want to use the pager you will have to purchase the smart siren II.

All of the CVO's have come with just the regular siren, not the pager enabled version.  If you want to verify, look for the antenna on the siren.  The stock bikes won't have one.

Well that kind of figures.
I buy my first CVO thinking there wouldn't be too much more for me to do to it and yet the simplest thing they leave out.
$30k and they couldn't put the smart siren II in it?

Thanks for the info.

;D   You didn't really think H-D would put everything on the bike and forgo the opportunity to make a bunch of extra money by selling you all that stuff did you?  They just put enough on the bike to wet your appetite and try to justify the price (and give you that infamous excuse we probably all used to justify the purchase, "but honey, it comes with everything from the factory so I won't be spending more for upgrades" or something similar.  That has to be the biggest lie ever told in the history of motorcycle purchases. ::)

So far I'm looking at about $400.00 just to start off. I like the looks of the stock pipes so I'd like to remove the baffles for more sound.
Has anyone done that? How does it sound?

give you that infamous excuse we probably all used to justify the purchase, "but honey, it comes with everything from the factory so I won't be spending more for upgrades" or something similar.

Jerry

Never told that to my wife.  After I put a deposit on my First CVO, on the drive home she asked how much is that bike, I told her 31K.  Her comment was " I have never had a car that expensive"  To which I replied, " Neither have I"  She then said, I hope you like it and that was the end of the conversation.

She never said a word when I traded the 09 CVO Road Glide for the 12 CVO road glide.

On the 13 CVO King, which I bought with out trading or selling anything she did not say anything or ask anything, until I took the top end apart with 2505 miles on the bike.
Then the question was why does a CVO with the big motor need more power.

I'm lucky my wife loves to ride as much if not more than I do. :)

Check out the Fullsac dot com web site.  He makes baffles that go in the stock muffler cans.  Looks stock, sounds much better around 125 dollars or so.  Let them know your a member of this site for the discount.

You will see he also makes a head pipe the eliminates the cat, and goes under the stock heat shields.

The head pipe and baffles are a popular was to go on this site.

My wifes street glide has his head pipe, cvo mufflers with his baffles and the TTS tuner.

My 13 CVO King has his head pipe, baffles and TTS tuner with a bunch of other stuff.

My 09 CVO had the same set up.
