rear speaker volume
« on: May 03, 2013, 12:46:19 AM »

finally got the ultra out today and went for a ride, xm cranked up and noticed that I was not hearing the rear speakers, adjusted the fader to full rear and had to turn volume up some more, seems like last year the front and rear volumes were about the same volume, are they?  no other ultras near to listen too. is my amp starting to fade out on me or perhaps a setting somewhere that changed?
is my memory (or ears) going bad or should the volume level be the same?
thanks
mike

You are sure you have the switch on the dash in the correct position?

The switch on the dash has nothing to do with rear speakers. Switch forward, Radio & CB to Bike Speakers. Middle position Radio to bike speakers, CB & Intercom to headset. Rear position everything to headset. Fader is the only thing controlling front & rear differential volume.

On all of my ultras the rear speakers have never been as loud or easier to hear than the rear.  I personally favor the front because they are more effective.  It may have something to do with your helmet design ie full/half/no helmet etc.
