Rear Pulley Comming Apart
« on: July 02, 2013, 11:54:47 PM »

This morning when backing up my bike to go for a Ride I heard a scraping noise similar to break pad/rotor
Noise. What I found was that the rear pulley inner belt guide come loose and fell on the center of the rim.Has anyone had this happen to them? Well I removed the two pulley prices and took it to the local shop where they remounted it by peening the edges of the pulley where it mates the steel ring and added
four # 8-32 s screws to make sure it does not come off again! This was a Genuine Harley part! A 68 tooth
1.125" pulley! It is fixed now. Strange problem. I will try to get a pic that not a large file.

That happened on my 2010 FLHTK.  Dealer caught it during a tire change before it came all the way apart and replaced it under warranty.  Yours is the only other instance I've heard of this happening.

Happened on my 2010 FLHTK when it was new. Best part was service manager asked if I would replace it myself when the new pulley came in. Would have to wait a week---they were busy. No problem.      JoeS
