Wild One handle bar install question
« on: July 12, 2013, 10:29:37 PM »

Had the dealer install Wild 1's 10 inch chubby apes ($217 for the apes and $225 for labor), but now the throttle grip moves left and right about 1/8 of an inch of more is this normal? Just have that feeling like it's going to come off.

It won't come off... It's held in place by the switch housings. I run the WO 575 bars, and my throttle grip moves, too. If it bothers you, you can fix it. Others here have fixed it, including cvostu, I think. I haven't bothered to, because it really doesn't bother me... In fact, I actually play with it while riding when I get bored!

Noticed it as soon as I did install. Sloppier than stock setup.

The TBW slides in a little too far on the cutout grooves. I pulled my twist grip off and made spacers to go into grooves that moves TBW out maybe an 1/8" or so. It still has enough cutout to lock positively into bar and I now have no left/right play at all with throttle.
Pretty easy fix to an annoying problem.

I was just kidding, really doesn't bother me. I love the bars, they fit me perfectly.
