Body Work
« on: July 15, 2013, 02:34:27 PM »

So after seeing some bikes with 21"-30" wheels and some other custom items, it got me thinking that I may dress up the bike a bit.  I like the looks of the stretched bags and the big wheel up front and even some of the complete body molding sets out there.  I would probably shelf my stock tins, even though I have the super rare "Screamin Eagle" on the tank (joke)..   I like the look of the big wheel up front but after talking to some people I don't think I'd go any more then a 23" due to cornering performance.  And out back I see kits for the fenders and bags that are made out of fiberglass that really look like they flow together well.  Does anyone have experience with these kits?  I like the way it fills in the back end of the bike.  Is fiberglass suitable for a rear fender if you ride two-up?  I want the paint to be similar to the stock paint.  Any thoughts??

I have a 21" front and love it. However, that is a very minor change when compared to what you are looking at.

Did you rake it out or use the stock geometry on the fork angle?

Everything stock, increased the fender holes slightly (3/8) and reused stock fender. Rides much better than stock. Look at all the nimble Softails, etc. All carry 21" front. Also fills the fender better  :huepfenjump3:
