Summer time in Jalalabad 09
« on: August 01, 2013, 08:52:10 PM »

This was taken on June 27, 2009 at 2:03 pm at Jalalabad air field, Afghanistan.  My wife had sent me a portable room air conditioner and the inside temp is in my B hut room.  The outside temp is from the sensor mounted outside and was in the shade at the time this was taken.  Just thought you might like to remember our friends that are still there and aren't fortunate enough to have the room  air conditioner.   :sauer005:

Very humbling. It's very easy to forget our troops over there and the sacrifices they make for us every day.

That ain't hot!!! ..... That's hell-on-earth-frekin'-damn-hot!! At least it's a "dry heat"! LMFAO

Can't agree that it's "easy to forget" but I'm pretty sure I get what you mean.

For those who are back home  -  we ALL thank those that are not because they are doing what we can not.

Be safe my friend and come back to us whole - in body, mind, & soul.

John

Dude, great pic of the temp and THANK YOU for your service!

I was in that same area with a team from 05'-06' and boy if it wasn't that hot...it snowed for days on us!

Take care and be safe,

Ken is so spot on. It is so easy for us to forget about what we take for granted everyday like air conditioning. We owe a lot to our young men and women that serve in our armed forces that do make the sacrifices to keep each and everyone of us free.

May God bless each and everyone of them!

Thanks for your service! When I was in Afghanistan the 80's I froze my arse off for a while then a few months later couldn't find a cool spot in the shade for any amount of money.
