Heads Only
« on: August 02, 2013, 02:30:44 PM »

Since getting a pile of cash together for my toys is always tougher than one would think, what would one expect performance wise from just doing the heads? Ported, springs and all that stuff.

I've always heard that heads is where it's at.

Heads are only as good as the one who machines them for your build

If you're talking about just buying a set of heads from the catalog and bolting them on with no other work, that isn't likely to impress you with the return per dollar invested IMHO.  Properly worked heads in combination with a coordinated build by a competent engine builder is a different story.  Ask Don of Dewey's Heads what he thinks of your stock CVO heads, you might be surprised by what he tells you.

headwork will work as part of a balanced build, headwork done to a bone stock motor will not yield much.but even will very mild cam & compression changes, the right porter can make big differences :2vrolijk_21:

I will tell you one thing, they have plenty of airflow for the 110 motor especially with the stock cam.
