Is the converters on the 09 CVO Road Glide in the mufflers or the head pipes?

No cat in the 09.

Only because nearly everyone removed them.    :huepfenlol2:   On a stock,  '09 SERG (as on all 110,' 09 touring bikes), the catalytic converter is in the collector portion of the headpipe, behind the right floorboard.

a stock 96" 09 has no cat, stock 110 header does have a cat - many folks swapped the 96" header onto the 110 bikes, look identical but no cat - one year only parts.

the only sure way to know is to remove the right muffler and look up there and see if its there

the 09 96 header is a good piece and some folks swapped it into 07 bikes as well - hence used 96" 09 headers are sort of rare to find and more money than you expect to pay because everybody wants one.  hell if i found one id take it and put it on the parts shelf.

i have a 07, that is also a one year only header - managed to find a take off and have it on the shelf for the one year only y pipe. i already had a y pipe break and now i have a spare. folks have asked me why i care just put on a aftermarket header?? i run a sidecar and zero aftermarket headers will clear the sidecar frame at the rear. a few true duals will clear - but with a sidecar the only power that matters is from 2200 to 3500.
