Swingarm Bag
« on: August 26, 2013, 04:15:35 PM »

I think that I want to add a Swingarm bag for my Breakout that will be able to fit extra gear for weather related rides, and maybe other small items. Have any of you guys found a bag that works well and looks good on the bike?

Can't speak to how this particular bag will look/work on your bike but do know this company provides good American made leather products. Check out their Leather Swing Arm Bag and if you like what you see look at their thread in our Vendor Discount Board - Fox Creek Leather Is Offering...

I have a Leatherworks from American Side Road Cycles.  It's held up well.

Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.

I didn't know Fox Creek made bags, I'll check them out. I have purchased jackets and a pair of gloves from them, not cheap, but very good quality.

Aftermarket swingarm bags are small and have no bracket system, the rely on leather straps. Some have inserts to help keep the shape, most do not.

Harley makes a swingarm bag that has a bracket, is larger than most (so is practical), and has internal insert to help it keep its shape.  I suggest going with that if you only want one (HD does not make it for the right side, only left).

Aftermarket you have Licks Cycle, LaRosa Designs, Viking, etc.  I went with LaRosa for my 48, because I wanted those cool looking fuel bottles.

With PVC insert to help avoid the bag from sagging...
