2013-2014 Fairing Upgrade
« on: August 19, 2013, 11:22:45 AM »

Does anyone know if you can upgrade the fairing from a 2013 inner fairing to the new 2014 type. Would be great to upgrade to the new radio!

Would probably be cheaper to trade the 13 in for a 14.  Different radio, gauges, wiring harness, etc.  Holy crap.

I don't think it's feasible. The fairing seems completely different, and the '14s are all CANBUS anyway. No way the new CANBUS wiring could possibly be compatible with the previous J1850 harness... they are TOTALLY different systems.

You would think Harley would have an option since they make big bucks on after market. In time some company will figure it out.

I'm looking at a 14.  I would like to take the clearview windshield off my 08 and put it on the 14.  Do you think it will interchange with the difference in the fairing?

Good thought... As I mentioned in another thread, my clearview recurve works way better at buffeting the wind than the mail slot does.

I just replaced the bars on my buddies 14, mounting points are all different.  The windshield seems to be the same, however the lower screw points are way different.  Seems like they slimmed down the fairing as well.
