cigar lighter socket for charging mobile phone
« on: March 04, 2014, 05:50:28 PM »

Hi all
while I am waiting for delivery of my new CVO Softail Deluxe, I was wondering if anybody has installed a car-type charger for charging while on the go? I saw an HD part which fits in the side bags but not sure if it allows removal of the bags. Also saw Kuryakyn part that fits on the bars. Anyone got any favoured solutions?

I installed a power outlet in my SERK bag that I got from a Auto Parts place for less than 1/2 the HD model. I used a extra Battery Tender extension that I plug in to my charging pigtail. I did not mount it in the bag but just let it lay when in use. Unplugs for removal of bag.

I hard wired the female plug in for my heated clothing in the left side heat shield. I use that to charge the battery as well. Just get a male plug and fit it to your battery charger.
