SBB was talking about a similar situation at MV this year. He took a coffee stir straw and blew into it to help get the water out. Mine got wet at some point and went into "battery not calibrated" mode. Dealer reflashed with an update to clear it. Told me it can happen if your radio gets water into it. Just giving some ideas if anything else happens to it soon. Might be a result of the water that got in it.

A sane and reasonable person might expect an open vehicle like a motorcycle to have waterproof radios, gauges, and switches.  I wonder when we can expect Harley to actually use such parts?

Best bet for now is to avoid rain and avoid washing the bike, at least the fairing and bars/grips. ;)

Stuart,

Glad it worked its way out and everything Is working now for you.

BTW, I NEVER let the wash boy wash my bike at the dealership or at bikini washes! They just spray away like they don't have a care in the world. (And they don't) it's not their bike and not to mention all the crap that is on their wash mitts.

Very true,,   I learned the hard way.  It was the guy that cleaned it up after the bars and the paint was finished,,,  think he would know better.  :nixweiss:

Amen, Jerry.  My comment to an HD rep after my radio went out during a nice shower coming back from SD was "You would think after 110 years, the MoCo could come up with a water proof radio".

Stu, had mine replaced even though it came back with no problems after it dried out.  Skunk Ryder had his go out a couple weeks ago....radio replaced under warranty and the "new" one isn't working now.  He's gotta go back for another replacement...glad we still have warranty.
