Glide Pro Install and Alignment
« on: October 31, 2013, 09:28:43 PM »

In another thread I mentioned installing the GlidePro swingarm shaft/bushings and front motor mount.  Have had a chance to ride a couple hundred mikes on it thus far and I'm impressed.  Bike rode well with the stock bushings and motor mount, but is better with GlidePro like the bike is on rails!  There is also far less vibration and alignment was a breeze using their recommended procedure.  See attached photos.

Basically you align the wheels by ensuring they are parallel front to rear.  Adjustments are made using the front stabilizer link.  Then you do the vertical alignment of the engine in the chassis by first leveling the frame, then the rear wheel so it is perfectly perpendicular to the frame.  Any adjustments are made using the upper stabilizer link.  When alignment is complete, the laser lines run parallel as depicted in the photos.  Easy breezy!

Rear wheel.  Note that level and laser have magnetic bases and will stick to stock rotors.  I have the Lyndall composite rotors so I clamped a steel 12 x 8 tee square to the rotor and then attached the level and laser to the tee square.
