What's the optimal Compression Ratio for 259e Cams? '09 SERG
« on: November 01, 2013, 11:07:21 PM »

I can either go back with stock pistons and have c/r added with thinner gaskets / headwork on the brand new (in the bags) heads.

Or go back with 10.5 / 1 pistons and delete c/r with headwork.

I do a good bit of sport touring to different parts of the country on the '09 SERG. 'Am probably tuning with PC-V / AutoTune

I really like the characteristics of the 259s and the fact that they leave my ESP relatively intact.

Would I have any real world gain by doing intake work and / or larger throttle body with this combination

'Am going have to send the heads to someone, since we don't have any good machine shops, that are within practical driving distance.
Any recommendations???

I'd use the 10.5 pistons and use .030 head gaskets.

I'd use the 10.5 pistons and use .030 head gaskets.

10.5 is the highest c/r that I will go, considering how I use the '09.

The bars are really a lot farther apart for me these days (on this bike) :bananarock:

Best results would come with the 10.5 pistons and headwork by far. All pieces to a puzzle.
Not sure any be any benefit with a bigger throttle body or not, my cousin is pulling 130+ tq/hp out of
his S&S 124 with a stock tb and injectors in his 07 SG

Yep, that is my buddies Skunk.

Same build we did this past Dec on my 13 King.  Love it.  Needs the 10.5 pistons and good head work.  See my build in signature.

Its been to Key West and Milwaukee since the build, 9500 miles on the build this year.  The Skunk in the link has almost 20K miles on the build.

Any idea how much HP would be picked up with a larger TB on a 110 w/ 10.5-1cr, 259s, and headwork ??

Is intake matching required with the larger throttle bodies?

do the larger TBs come with bigger injectors?

What size injectors do you recommend?

Thanks,
