radio removal

need to send my radio out to get the AUX plug fixed from a cord getting too tight. took the fairing off my 12 rg and everything made sense but the black box on the left side of the radio. nothing about it in my service manual. anybody have an answer as to what it is  it has wires leading into the harness

If it has a Red LED on it then it is the Navigation Interface Module (NIM).

My crystal ball thinks it just might be. The NIM is just above and has a Red LED.
