Getting black drip marks off white Trailer
« on: August 11, 2014, 06:27:16 PM »

We've been bustin our asses trying to get our white Haulmark trailer waxed, it has been setting a while and when it used to sit outside leaves would accumulate on the roof and then black streaks would form on the sides.  We've tried every wax we have, not working, I found a bottle of Nufinish polish and that works, but needs a lot of rubbing...my arms are ready to fall off.  Trying to get this done cause we want to use this to get to MV next  month.  I know a buffer would be faster but it has all these rows of screws and I think it would just tear up the buffing pads.  Any ideas?

Look in the RV section of Walmart for "black streak remover" or similar.

That trailer will be like cleaning gutters.

I have LeafGuard gutters which are prone to black streaks and mold.

This is what my power wash guy uses to clean the gutters. They look like new when he is done.

Well we got the black streak remover from WallyWorld...didn't work, we ended up using the Nufinish on the whole trailer, worked good but you really had to rub, but now it's done...

Thanks for the input on this thread... I was just looking at my trailer last weekend, stored remotely, and am facing the same issue. At least now I know what's I'm in for.

Whomever comes up with a spray on/wash off cleaner for black streaks will never have to work again.

Try Dri Wash n guard, works wonders on black streaks and doesn't strip the wax off.

We will never let ours get that bad again, it was a killer because we didn't clean it for a few years cause the trailer wasn't being used, now it's clean and it will stay in our pole barn, no more weather on this one, except when traveling.  Good Luck with yours.

Try Krud Kutter.  It is at most paint stores and is used to get the black streaks off of gutters.  It works great and comes in a spray bottle.

Too little too late, but I was going to suggest the easy way out. Take a trip to the nearest truck stop to you that has a Blue Beacon truck wash ... you would be amazed what they can do. You could bring in the filthiest, nastiest piece of equipment in there and come out looking brand-new. I was in & out of landfills and nasty coal yards with this truck and this is how good it turned out. The best part is you won't even break a sweat and I'm sure they wouldn't charge anywhere near the $80.00 it costs to do a truck for a little trailer.

Wish I had a before pic, but sorry I don't. Some guys call it the slang term "Streakin' Beacon" ... some are better than others, but they never streaked anything I brought them.

Just go to the Dollar store and buy Awesome for a Buck, works better than the $ 15 a bottle at the RV center. Nothing !! works better than awesome....
