Renting a bike in Vegas ?
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:40:32 PM »

I'm planning a trip to Vegas at the end of March.  I have to rent bikes for a couple of days to go see the Grand Canyon...

I saw 2 options... Las Vegas HD and EagleRider.  The second one offers lower prices and unlimited miles.  (And they have Indians)

Any advices for the rental? Options to sleep near the Grand Canyon...  Any other info that you could share???

TNX !!

Have rented from Eagle Rider here in Minneapolis. Was actually a local MC dealer. Good experience.

Sorry I should have said enterprise rents HDs at the airport. Not sure what MCs they have and I probably would go with eagle riders.

It's close to 300 miles from Vegas to the South Rim, but a must do if you have not been. There are a couple of rides near Vegas that shouldn't be missed. Valley Of Fire & Red Rock Canyon are 2 that come to mind. Sounds like a perfect time to log some miles on an Indian and see what you think. Enjoy!!

Have also seen an Enterprise rental fleet at their location on W Flamingo. Looks pretty large and includes Sportsters. Short distance west of the Palms.

When you are at the south rim, don't get talked into driving around to the north rim. It is a waste of a lot of time. It is the basic same view, only from the other side.

Agree on the north rim, but if you do go north Bryce and Zion National Parks are awesome.

Thanks for the advices!

Got a 4 days reservation on an Indian Chief Vintage.  I'll try to make the best of them to try that nice piece of steel and I'll let you know my thoughts when I'm back.

I planned one day in Death Valley and 2 days to south rim ( one night at Grand Canyon Village ).

I'm leaving in a month so more of your advices will be more than welcome!!!

Good advice!  Booked it yesterday.  Almost full everywhere!

BTW, aren't we supposed to have "special rates" as HOG members ?  I went to their website, registered with HOG number and the proposed rate was higher than the one I got on hotel.com...   ???
