The radio inadvertently switches from iPod to Am on my SEUC8

I have recently had the audio system on my SEUC8, switch on its own from playing my iPod tunes to the AM radio.
Has anyone else experienced this? If I'm playing a CD it doesn't seem to do it.

I forgot to add, that I sometimes lose the right fairing speaker during a song.
